Speaker: Ellen Lindner - "Confessions of a Fabric Whisperer"
For September our guest will be national teacher and presenter Ellen Lindner. Her topic will be “Confessions of a Fabric Whisperer” What do 750 pins, window screening, and paint have in common? They’ve all been used by Ellen Lindner in creative ways as she’s made art quilts. Join her in an amusing accounting of the unusual things she’s done over the years, some successful and some resulting in “rough drafts.”
Ellen’s work is diverse, ranging from pictorial still lifes to modernist abstracts using commercial and her own hand-dyed fabrics. Known for strong contrasts and vivid colors, her pieces are shown throughout the United States and she’s done commissioned work for several well-known hospitals. Ellen has been seen on Quilting Arts TV, has written two books and has a long list of juried show ribbons and awards.
Everyone is welcome to attend the General meeting.
